Review of Trainer Track Stats

By: Scott Daniels

Before I consider any new system I need to know the logic behind it’s operation. What is the thinking behind the way it highlights the selections?

If there is no logic, then I am afraid I am simply not interested. For example, someone could reverse-engineer a system to show that if you backed grey horses ridden by a jockey in yellow colours whenever there is an *R* in the month, you would be in profit. This is a ridiculous example, but you can see there is no logic to this system and any profit would be purely by coincidence.

Which I why I really like TrainerTrackStats by Matt Bisogno.

Matt sets out to develop his system under the premise that trainers excel with certain horses in particular types of races, and at specific tracks. This is a completely reasonable point of view, and makes a sound basis for a betting system. But having an idea is just the beginning. Developing a system worth its salt requires a lot of work, and I mean an awful lot of work.

I have watched a video that Matt Bisogno posted on his web site recently. It demonstrated how, first of all he identified a whole bunch of potential trainers to follow. Each had to have saddled a minimum number of winners, but this still resulted in the best part of one hundred trainers for further analysis.

This is where Matt needed his trusty copy of System Builder, and a plentiful supply of midnight oil to burn whilst he set about some serious number crunching. His task was to study the performance of each trainer, at each jumps course in the UK. No mean feat!

The resulting guide does not simply show you which trainers make a profit at each track. This basic information can be found easily in the Racing Post. TrainerTrackStats digs much MUCH deeper to reveal profitable sub-trends. It shows you which trainers to follow at each track, and critically in which particular races.

By way of an example, a recent horse to qualify as a selection was trained by a lady called Mrs E Slack, and ran at Sedgefield. The Racing Post would have told you at the time that over the past five seasons, Mrs Slack had a record of 12 winners from 97 runners at Sedgefield and a LOSS of £533.40 to £20 stakes.

But the research in TrainerTrackStats identified a profitable sub-trend in these overall figures. I'm not giving too much away by telling you that the guide suggests following the trainer Mrs E Slack in handicap chases of 2m 6f or less. The result of the race was a winner at 11/2, for a PROFIT of £110.

In other words, we were able to overturn a nasty loss into a tasty profit by looking beneath the surface to reveal the types of races Mrs Slack targets to produce winners for her owners. Most punters would not have looked beyond the fact that Mrs E Slack makes a loss overall at Sedgefield.

Incidentally, I wonder if you've even heard of Mrs E Slack?!! See how you can be making profits when most punters are blindly following the Big Name trainers?

So if you visit the TrainerTrackStats web site what can you expect?

The guide really does represent value for money not often found in betting eBooks and systems. For example, the 2008/9 version of TrainerTrackStats consists of 77 pages and has 145 trainers to follow around the country (plus another 288 in the 'Directors Cut'- an appendix at the back of the book).

The system is incredibly easy to follow and all selections can be found the evening before racing takes place.

You just check the Racing Post newspaper or on the internet at RacingPost.co.uk and find out where the race meetings are taking place. Then you look in the guide for the trainers to follow at each track. Check the race cards in the paper to see if the trainers have any runners, and then see if they're in the right type of race. If they are, and the odds are right, you've found yourself a qualifying bet. How hard was that?!

There are no silly staking plans as all selections are backed to win using level stakes.

Don't expect every selection to win. In fact it's the opposite with more losers than winners expected over the season. Don't worry though as you can expect a steady flow of winners at odds such as 14/1, 12/1, 10/1, 8/1, 6/1, 4/1 & 2/1 ensuring long term profits.

If you don't have time to find the selections yourself or want to ensure you are backing the correct selections at all times then the authors have this covered also, with an optional subscription service where horses are posted on the web site. As a member you just log in and view the selections for that day.

If you're looking for every bet to be a winner, then this is NOT for you but IF you are looking for a horse racing system that returns long term profits then look no further.

RECOMMENDATION: Definitely worth paying money for and in my opinion TrainerTrackStats is a long term winner.
