PW: Hi Matt, thrilled to meet you, and thanks for taking time out to talk for our readers today. If I could start by asking, how long have you been interested in gambling and how did you get involved? MW: In 2005, I decided to start looking for ways to generate additional income. I am a successful musician, but in my field (classical music) success and financial reward don’t always go together, as you are probably aware. Because I am on the road a lot, I needed something which could be done from a laptop and internet connection. I have never been interested in “gambling” and am still not to this day. However, I am good at managing money, and I am generally very disciplined. I can’t quite remember how it happened, but I was introduced to the concept of betting on horses to lose (laying), so I decided to look into this. It didn’t take me long to figure out that: A) most people fail to make a profit through laying, and betting in general. B) there are an awful lot of system sellers and tipsters, willing to take your money. Fortunately, I discovered the Betting School and Secret Betting Club, quite early on, so could do my due diligence more easily and thoroughly. PW: What is the story behind your most memorable bet? MW: I think my most memorable bet has to be the first lay bet I placed, back in October 2005. It was somehow the beginning of something which I was convinced I would eventually be good at, and yet at the same time, I knew it was going to take practice and persistence. (I lost on that first bet by the way) PW: Which sports venue or event do you visit most often, and why? MW:In all honesty, I don’t go to sporting events very often. I used to very much enjoy going to the greyhound races in Walthamstow, however the track recently closed (August 2008). PW: Has watching any one particular sporting event had a big impact on your life? MW: I remember a few years ago, there was a swimmer in the Paralympics who won gold (can’t remember the distance). Anyway, this swimmer had no arms … I take great inspiration from sports men and women, in the amount of preparation and determination they show. Music is very similar in that respect, and strangely enough, I think this has helped my betting enormously. Knowing that things tend to develop over time … PW: How did you get the idea for the Favourites Phenomenon system? MW: The FP System uses a form of staking known as stop-at-a-winner, or SAW for short. There are various services out there which promote SAW betting, and I could see that people were losing horrendous amounts of money. The thing with a lot of SAW methods, is that they often work for a few weeks, or even months, but then a bad day comes along, and suddenly all your profits are whiped out, and sometimes your bank as well. It was clear to me however, that these tipsters were not backing their criteria on statistical proof, and furthermore, nobody talked about how to use stop losses properly. I set about annalysing every day of racing from the year 2000, and in 2006, I started to use the FP System. PW: What will my readers gain most from visiting your web site? MW: The website is actually a little understated to be honest. I don’t promise huge profits and overnight writches, or a quick fix to everybody’s problems. What readers will find however, is a transparent and proven approach to making money by betting on UK horse racing. Readers will also have the option to download a 56 minute long interview which I did with Mike Bishop from the Secret Betting Club. On the home page at www.fp-system.co.uk You will find links to testimonials, independent reviews and up-to-date results. PW: Have you had good feedback from visitors and members so far? MW: Absolutely tremendous, and readers will be able to check this out for themselves by reading the many testimonials I have received. I look after my customers, and I take the FP System very seriously. PW: Do you have any further projects on the drawing board? MW: O yes, I think there is a lot I can do to help people make money through betting., so watch this space … PW: Everybody is an expert in the betting game, and that’s what makes it so appealing, but is there any advice you can give my readers when it comes to making money from betting? MW: Professional gambling is about long term profits, not making money one week and then losing it the next. Here’s something you can try and focus on … 1) Look at what other successful sports investors are doing 2) Copy them, or better still, ask them to teach you 3) Take a long-term approach, and by that I mean 6 to 12 months 4) Concentrate on one thing at a time and slowly build up your portfolio PW: So... what does the future hold for Matt Watson and the FP System? MW: The future looks rosey to be honest. This is a system which will be around for years to come … I know this because it’s been around for years already, just nobody has been using it correctly. The FP automated betting bot has recently launched, and feedback thus far is excellent. I like the bot as it completely takes the imotion out of betting. I have other services and projects in the pipeline, all designed to help people like your readers make money from betting. PW: Completely off topic, but finally, What's the funniest thing to have happened to you in the past seven days? MW: Not many people know this, but I am blind ... I was recently staying in a hotel in Montreal Canada, and was coming down from my room to the reception area. As I got out of the lift, there was a woman at the front desk, who was very annoyed that the taxi she had ordered hadn’t turned up. She obviously heard me behind her, and she turned round and said “so, are you my taxi driver” To which I replied (white stick in hand) “Yes madam ... how much do you want me to pay you to give you a lift ...” PW: Matt, it's been an absolute pleasure, and thank you very much for your time today
